Dear Mr. Buchan,
I have asked Houghton Mifflin to send you
the book which my brother and I have written on
our trip to East Africa in 1923. It pretends to little
more than veracity and a decent simplicity, but not
all travel or hunting books on Africa have these virtues.
I read John McNab with all the interest
and love I felt in your four novels, and I had
the honor of reviewing it for the Atlantic Monthly.
Weren't your three heroes troubled with accidie?
which is described somewhere in the Parson's Tale.
