Garrowby, Buckthorpe, York. Telegrams.Bishop Wilton.

20th January, 1926.

My dear John,

I wish I could do what you ask, but I am afraid it is impossible. I am so awfully full. I am coming to Oxford on the 5th March, but to bid farewell to All Souls at their Bursar's Dinner. The weekends I am already tied up, either in London or Yorkshire.

I am very sorry because my instinct tells me how good is the work you are seeking to do, and there is nobody under whose auspices I would sooner have tried to lend a hand than yours.

Yours ever, Irwin
