Lambeth Palace, S.E.1.
22nd December 1927.
My dear Buchan,
I thank you very cordially for your kinrlness in writing to me
about the vote of Thursday last. I listened with keenest thankfulness to your
speech and I believe with you that the House of Commons may look on the matter
quite differently when the question is again before it. I was not impressed
by the attitude of the House, especially in those quarters where ignorance of the
facts was most obvious.
May every highest and best Christmas blessing be yours.
I am,
Yours very truly,
[Archbishop]. Randall Cartman
