Herewith is something I promised & have long meant to send. There's an amusing [composition] of King Jamie on p. 35 & an interesting cipher on p. 41.

Please, there isn't any suggestion of quid pro quo but can I possibly induce you to give a talk to my students plus others sometime next year. Oct 1928? - March 1929. I am

now firm enough in the saddle here to try & stimulate the study of Scottish History in this University, and am definitely beginning next session.

A boost from you, preferably on Montrose, would be an enormous help. The date & hour we could leave entirely to you.
