Dear Sir,

I must apologize for trespassing on your time & courtesy, but hope that you will accept my little book, & forgive the borrowing of your title.

I wish to apologize for that, & doing so gives the opportunity of saying what an immense amount of pleasure your books have given me, & still give. I read the "Salute" - as I read the "Gentleman of France" - at least once every year, & have done so since it first came out.
