My own darling,

I have just got your letter. I am so sorry I could not
find time to write to you yesterday morning in the hurry of my
departure from Eton.

Isn't it lovely weather; not nearly so cold.

I will ask Paul Lathem and some others to your mother's
party, but it would be better if I could have cards, as people are
apt to forget verbal invitations.

I dined last night with old Leicton to meet Car Bridgeman
and Margaret Leicester Warren. Margaret is very pretty and nice,
and longs to see Alice again; but she is hardly ever in London.

Syb. and Ralph Glyn were also dining at the House. We
had an enormous majority at the division for the Wheat Quota Bill.

"The Literary Supplement" in the review of Scott is very
polite, and there is a long screed by Robert Lend in "the Daily
News".

This is rather a melancholy day for poor little Alice.
I hope to see her tomorrow at luncheon.

Car Bridgeman is very anxious about the Archbishop. She
says his strength is really declining. He ought to go to Martin.
