My dear Stair

Your letter about the Blanket gave me the very greatest
possible pleasure. I find, as I grow older, that I write more and
more to please myself and my old friends, and think of nobody else.
I do hope you will like my Scott. A copy will come to you as soon
as it is published.

Is there no chance of your coming to Elsfield again this
spring, for we would have a rare expedition far into the Cotswolds?
