Dear Buchan. I feel that I must write & say
'Thank you' for the great pleasure & interest which
I have found in reading your Sir Walter Scott
It is a most delightful book & deserves the very
great success which I am sure it will get.
When you reprint may I suggest that Cartley Hole
should be Clarty Hole (p101) & if Sophia was
born in 1799 (p89) she must have been 16 not
12 in 1815 (p144) - and do baronets receive
the accolade (p177) I thought only knights did.
These are trifles which may have escaped attention
- minute blemishes in an A.1. book
Yours ever sincerely
John Murray
