St. Stephen's House, London, S. W. 1.

My own darling,

16th March, 1932.

I do hope you got home safely last night and found everything all right.

Yesterday I was so junked up with a cold that I nearly came back to Elsfield. However, I decided to wrestle on, and am much better this morning. I lunched with my Palestine friends, the Tutes, who are just leaving for the Bahamas.

I lay down before dinner, and then went to dine with the Jews - a most impressive occasion - and sat next my beloved Mrs. Jimmie. We sat at the graces before meat and after, and covered our heads, and instead of "Auld Lang Syne " they sang the Hymn of Exile. made a really good speech. I was so moved that I made a really good speech. Then I went to Circe's party to settle about Tuesday. She wants Alice and me to dine with Charlie and her before the party. There was a great crowd, including the Prof., who seemed rather lonely. I saw Patrick Buchan-Hepburn sitting out and dancing with Georgie Curzon.

I have a quiet day today, with a dinner of our Group in the evening, and I shall nurse my cold.

I am looking forward to seeing you on Friday at 1.30. Remind Webb about the car.

Much love. from John
