CHAIRMAN: RT. HON. STANLEY BALDWIN M.P. SECRETARY: THOMAS JONES C.H.

THE PILGRIM TRUST

FOUNDER: EDWARD S. HARKNESS

10 YORK BUILDINGS ADELPHI, LONDON W.C.2

PHONE: TEMPLE BAR 5385 & 5386

4 April 1932

My dear J.B.

The Chairman came to see me on Friday & very kindly gave me permission to go to the South of France for this month to see if I can get rid of my rheumatics. I leave for Grasse in the morning & then Aix probably.

The office work is up-to-date as I have been seeing the staff daily here, & shall deal with urgent correspondence by post. - I told Grigg (after talking with S.B.) that he had better try the Carnegie Trust for help with the Milner papers - in the first instance anyway.

I read the "Scott" through & the best tribute I can give to its excellence is that it drove away my neuritis while I read it. S.B. much enjoyed 'kitchen midden' versus 'family altar'.

Yrs

T.J.
