I read your Life of Sir Walter with great interest. Of course I was brought up on him, and have several of his letters, as also the M.S of "Halidon Hill."
It was nice of you to put the word 'sounding' in about the Swintons, and I think you may like

I believe that I am quite justified in saying - as I do at the top of the second page - that there is more known of him on contemporary evidence than of any Scotsman of those early days.
