HOUSE OF COMMONS LIBRARY

April: 24: 28

My own little darling,

Winston is droning on with his Budjet, & is going to speak for 3 hours. There is nothing [startling] except the [rating] reform, & the tax on petrol to provide a fund for it. We shall not be much poorer!

Blanchie has been in bed with a feverish chill. But she is getting up to-day, and I am dining with her - & probably your mother.

Blanchie has had no nibble for her house yet.

Last night I dined at the H. of C. with David [Margesson?], Eddie Hartington, Oliver S. [ST: Stanley] etc. Much amusement has been caused by Bend d'or's [investiture/invitation?]. I got home at 11. To day I have been very busy, & I shall be busier to-morrow. It is a lovely balmy day & I wish I were with you & the Blessings

Much love

from

John
