HOUSE OF COMMONS

Jan: 27: 30

My own Buffles,

I did not get in last night because of so many front-bench speakers, but it didn't matter, for Baldwin said admirably what I wanted to say in reply to Winston; I gave him a quotation from Minto, which he used with great effect.

I am anxious, very anxious, about Aunt. She was very sick in the night, & I was not allowed to see her this morning. But I gathered from the nurse that Gordon Taylor thinks it pretty serious. Apparently the growth has been very rapid.

I hope to see her to-morrow morning, when I will find out about your coming up.

Trenchard lunched with me. I am not going to speak in the Trades Disputes Bill debate to-day, for it should be allowed to be carried for the lawyers. The Lord Advocate is making a very bad speech, & Simon is to follow.

How are you, my precious, & all the others? I am very well, but very anxious about my dear Blanchie.

Much love

[from John]
