St. Stephen's House, S. W. 1.

20th November, 1930

My own little darling

I got your letter this morning. Like you, I look forward with no great pleasure to the next week; but it won't be very long till next Wednesday.

The Pilgrim Trust meeting yesterday was very interesting. It lasted about three and a half hours, and we settled a great deal in the way of general principles. We hope to bring out, just before Christmas, a small preliminary list of benefactions. Afterwards Irvine lunched with me. An American lady is coming to draw me this morning. I have the Stevenson dinner in the evening; but will get back soon from that, and the journey to Scotland tomorrow will be very restful. If it is anything like good weather in the North, the trip will do me a lot of good. Meantime, here the rain comes down in buckets!

best place. The address of Mount Stewart is Newtownards, Co. Down. I ought to be back in London on the Wednesday not much after midday.

I will scribble you a line before I leave tomorrow.

Much love. from John

P.S. This is very important. When you come up on Wednesday will you bring me two white dress waistcoats, please.

^Ash cast for them
