My own little Precious

This has been a horrid day of rain & congested streets. I was 20 minutes late for lunch with Arthur Wauchope at the Naval & Military, & late for my Reuter Board. I got a good deal of work done in the office.

The opener & seconder of the address were very good. The P.M. rather poor. I have heard no news. There is an article in the Evening Standard complaining that I

and a few others are not in the Cabinet!

I have the Press Dinner at the Savoy to-night. To-morrow the P.M. dines with me.

I hope Alice's cold is better, & that the rest of the household flourishes
