St. Stephen's House, London, S. W. 1.

25th November, 1931.

My own darling

I got a card from you last night and a letter this morning. I am free for luncheon tomorrow, and will make no engagement until I know what you are going to do. If you want me to lunch, will you ring me up when you arrive in London? (Victoria 7284).

I do hope Barnas will enjoy himself. Any word of the other A.P.? Tell Alice that Circe expects her to help with her party next Monday. I believe that party will be a failure, for she has only just sent out invitations, having been hunting all last week.

I dined at The Club last night - an enormous dinner - the Archbishop, Edward Grey, Kipling, etc. To-day I have this address at the Church House at half past five, and must hustle back and dress for the dinner to Bennett, the Canadian Prime Minister at 7.30. After that I am going to supper at Circeheim with Ramsay and others. So I shall probably be very sleepy tomorrow.

I expect you to be ready without fail at 7.10 at Grosvenor Street tomorrow, with your best bib and tucker. Ramsay says he is more nervous about this dinner than any other engagement he ever had. So am I.

Much love. John
