St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
2nd June, 1932.
My own darling,
I got your letter at the club this morning. I will see that the cards are delivered at Bridgwater House. Mrs. Killick will type the letter for you. I am glad that your rehearsals are going on all right.
I had an interesting talk with Peter Davies yesterday at luncheon. He says my Caesar has done far the best of any of the books. There was a very large first edition, and it is just being reprinted. After that I had numerous appointments. I dined at the club and went back to vote in favour of the old Waterloo Bridge, where we had a most unexpected victory. David Balniel made a very good speech. By the way, did I tell you that Robin Castlereagh made a most excellent maiden speech last week on coal?
Tell Webb I will be back by the 4.45 train tomorrow. We must have a most serious talk. Have you made all arrangements for the 4th of June?
Much love.
From John
