My own darling
I got your letter this morning. Mrs. Killick will do your typing. I will be back tomorrow by eleven o ' clock, and am longing tremendously to see you again. I do hope your cold will be quite away.
Yesterday I lunched to hear Bertie [ST: Sir Robert] Horne talking finance, and then had first a meeting of the Film Institute people, and then one of the Philosophical Institute, and finally one with the Everest Committee. Alice came to dine, and I had Jock MacEwan and Bill Grey. We had a very pleasant evening. She looked very well and was in great spirits.
I hear Alastair has been swished at Eton, but he probably deserved it .
I am just off to Colchester and the oysters. Tonight the Prime Minister is dining with our little group.
Much love.
