Sir,
Your lively interest in all that pertains
to your illustrious literary predecessor,
Sir Walter Scott, and your Radio Talk of a
short while since have induced me
to take this present liberty of writing to you.
I do not know to what extent you
resemble your literary forbear in
encyclopaedic knowledge of foreign
languages, literature and history.
