[C. Carswell]

17 Keats Grove, London, N.W.3.

15 Sept. 1932.

Dear Mr. Buchan,

Donald and I do hope that you will like the Montrose book. We have ascertained that the signature on the title page is genuinely his - written when he was quite young. Therefore I suppose we may conclude that the frequent underlining is also his. I think you will agree that it is a lovely example of French printing. We felt that you were the man to possess it.

We were both sorry to hear today that Count Albany is not for Peebles. Don feared as much but was hoping for the best.

Harcourt Bruce is going ahead enthusiastically with my Lawrence book, the American edition being an improved and emended version (I like it better myself) and I have hopes that the same version may appear before too

With our united regards, Sincerely yours Catherine Carswell
