Elsfield Manor, Oxford.
20th December, 1932
John Edgar, Esq., Killyleoch, Dunscore, Dumfriesshire.
My dear John,
I sent you a parcel of reading matter yesterday. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you are getting a little bit better, and that you are taking to light jobs about the farm. That is the right line for recovery. It is wonderful what an effect spring-time in a man's own countryside can have on him, and if you mend slowly during the winter you will probably pick up very fast about April.
We all send our love. I long to see you at Elsfield.
Yours ever, John Buchan
