St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
30th November, 1932
My own darling.
I got your letter this morning. It looks good weather, and I do hope you will have a pleasant day at Eton, and that Jimmy will win his match. I wish I could see the little boys.
I think the dinner last night was a very great success. Ramsay appeared armed with a copy of one of his own books to present to John. He and Baldwin had to leave shortly after nine o'clock for a Cabinet meeting (the Cabinet is sitting almost continuously just now), but the rest of us stayed on till eleven. Edward Grey was in tremendous form, and I think everybody enjoyed themselves.

Enid's luncheon was rather amusing - Margot, Violet Bonham Carter, Lady Lavery, the Baroness d'Erlanger, Knebworth, Bernsdorff and Abe Bailey. Margot was terribly affectionate. I really enjoyed my talk with Violet, who is one of the most intelligent of human beings, and speaks so warmly of you.
I am off to Manchester at 1.30, and get back tomorrow morning. I will ring you up at Maudie's a little after ten o'clock.
Much love.
