St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.

2nd March, 1933

My own darling

I was very glad to get your letter this morning. I fancy that these long days' schooling will rather pall on you, but it is a wholesome change. I expect to see you tomorrow about tea-time.

We had a very good meeting at Sir John Barran's house yesterday, and a very distinguished little audience - Madeleine Middleton, Miss Haldane, Lady Burghclere, Car Bridgeman, and a lot of Members of Parliament. There was nothing much going on in the House, so I went to bed early.

Today (with the accompaniment of a cold) I have to take the Chair for Salisbury at a luncheon, give away prizes at the Frances Holland Schools, and make a speech at the Palestine dinner. It is quite mild weather.

Gran writes today lamenting the loss of Billie's rhymed letter, which she apparently treasured. She wants to know if he could write it out again. They seem to have had wild weather in the north.

Political affairs are pretty dicky. S.B's speech on taxation in the House yesterday was really very poor. The situation in Germany is appalling, and the American banks seem to be cracking
