St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.

16th March, 1933.

My own little darling

I was delighted to get your long and interesting letter this morning, and your postcard last night. What a curious world you are living in! I look forward to hearing full details on Sunday. It is sad about the weather breaking. I am afraid John won't have the time he had last year.

I had a busy time yesterday, what between the East London Governors' meeting and a lot of work at the House. I have been called in to help with the India White Paper; also I had a deputation from the rulers of the Synagogue about the situation of the Jews in Germany. I do not see that there is much we can do from this side. I dined at Bucks' with Harcourt Butler and others, and did not get home until well after midnight. Our talk was entirely about India.

Today I am lunching with Margot, and then must spend the rest of the afternoon choosing an assistant tutor for Ashridge. I am dining with Kenneth Barnes to meet the Cyril Maudes, and then going to see Alice act. I mean to go back to Elsfield tomorrow by the 8.40 train.

Do take care of yourself. I have sent on your letter to Alice.

Much love. from John
