St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.

30th March, 1933

My own little darling

I was delighted to get your letter this morning. You oughtn't to write to Mrs. Killick at the Club, as she is not a member. I do not bother so much about your being lonely now that you have John with you.

The visit to Glencoe was really delightful. We had Hugh Thomas's company at dinner in the train on Tuesday night. We arrived at Bridge of Orchy in gorgeous weather, and the drive from there to Glencoe was a thing to remember. The stags were down close to the road. During the day there were a few showers, one of which fell when I was speaking; but on the whole it was fine. We had a large turn-out of people, and at luncheon there were the old Bishop of Argyll, the Captain of Dunstaffnage, and other friends. I had a great re-union with many old stalkers. After tea we drove back again in gorgeous weather, dined in the train, and I slept like a log.

Today I have a B.B.C. meeting, and a few other oddments. Tonight I am dining with some booksellers. You remember I am not coming back tomorrow, but on Saturday morning by the train which gets in at 10.10, as I have the Speaker's levée on Friday night. I wish it were Saturday.

Much love.

from John
