My own darling

The weather report says "fine and Warm", but it is cold and gray this morning. I should definitely like the car to come for me tomorrow morning, and be at St. Stephen's Club at half past ten a.m.

I had a very nice man's dinner with Roderick last night - Dougie, Leo Amery, John Chancellor, Drummond, Chaplin and Philip Lothian. I had a long talk with Philip [ST: Lothian] about India, on which he seemed to me on the whole extraordinarily reasonable and good.

Today I must simply spend my time clearing up. The P.M. thinks it is practically impossible for him to come to Holyrood, indeed he cannot get away from London. But Tommy Horder says it is quite essential that he must have a fortnight's rest before the World's Economic Conference begins, or otherwise he will crack; so I am writing to him to say that I shall keep Holyrood open for him to the last moment.

Isn't it sad about Lady Cynthia Mosley? If Tom has any conscience he should be feeling pretty bad.

I hope it will be good weather tomorrow , and that we shall get an afternoon on Otmoor. I am getting your tickets for you for Sunday.
