St . Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.

30th November, 1933

My own little darling

I got your letter this morning. I do hope you are not having too dull evenings. I found Tin yesterday in pretty good health. I tried to strengthen her mind about Marnie, but what really worries her is some German doctor who is now in England, and who she thinks might benefit Aunt Katie, and who is not allowed by the Home Office to practice. Her passion for strange foreigners is most peculiar. I have promised to see the Home Secretary.

The dinner last night with Count Bethlen was very interesting. I should very much like to go and stay with them some time. They have a gigantic place in the Carpathians.

Today I am lunching with Christopher's father, and have Hilda and Arthur coming to tea, and then we have the Scottish dinner, which without you will be a bore.

Expect me by the 10.14 train tomorrow. I do hope you will have a pleasant day at Eton. Love to the lads.

Much love.
