St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.

5th December, 1933

My own little darling

It is much less cold today, for the wind has dropped. I had mistaken the day for the Film Institute meeting yesterday, entirely owing to their stupidity. It is this morning, but I doubt if I can get to it.

I joined Brian at twelve o'clock at the Greyhounds, when we had a most interesting talk. Brian is very shrewd and sensible. I hope he and Alice had a pleasant journey to Scotland.

I have to go to Cambridge this afternoon for my last lecture, and hope to catch the 7·7 train back and dine on the journey. That will enable me to get to the House at the end of the Group dinner when you entertain Ramsay.

Your Mother and her foreign doctor are coming to tea at the House tomorrow afternoon.

I hope you are not lonely and that John does not forsake you for the wild geese. There is not much news. Neville Chamberlain gave the Labour people the most complete dressing down yesterday evening that I have ever heard.

Much love. from John
