My own darling

I got your letter this morning. What you said in your
telegram was that I was only to ring up Alice if the 18th did not
suit me; but it does - quite well. But I will ring up Wimborne House.

You did not say what you had written to Mrs. Evans. I
am not very keen on Ffrwdgrech as it is so late in the month and
there is no riding.

Douglas Clydesdale can be Brian's best man, but he cannot
come to dine on the 19th. I have asked David Margesson and
Jock McEwan. I will ask Noel and Alan Lennox-Boyd and Mr. Baldwin.
Is there anybody else?

We had a very pleasant quiet dinner at the Irwins last
night - the Lane-Foxes, Mabel and Charlie Grey, Lady Humphreys,
the Pelhams, etc.

I had hoped to get back early on Friday morning, but the
King has summoned me to see him at Buckingham Palace at 10.45 that
morning, so I will come by the 1.45, arriving at 3.45. Will you
tell Webb.

I suppose you will be going to Eton one day this week.
I see the Eton boat is rowing to-day. I am very well, and my
cough is better.
