St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
12th June, 1934.
My own darling
A cold east wind, but no sign of rain! I had tea with
S.B. [ST: Stanley Baldwin] last night, and had a very interesting talk with him, which I will tell you about later. This morning I walked and breakfasted with the P.M. I think he is really pretty unwell, for his eyes are getting worse. I will tell you more about the situation when I see you.
Today I am lunching with the Duchess of Atholl, and I hope to dine with The Club.
I have arranged about the motor and will be at Grosvenor Street tomorrow night about ten minutes to nine. I do hope Alice and Brian will arrive safely.
Much love.
