St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
24th April, 1934
My own darling
I was delighted to get your wire yesterday afternoon when I arrived, and your postcard this morning. I am glad you had a good journey. It is rather cold here, but there seems some hope of rain.
It is terrible about poor Johnnie's [ST: Jameson's] boy. I am writing to him today.
I had a line from Mother this morning. They got safely to Stratford.
I enclose a letter from Fisher about old Bill, which is satisfactory. It was very nice of him to write.
I had a busy evening yesterday, and a long talk with the Prime Minister.
Today I have an Ashridge Governors' meeting, and an infinity of letters.
I have asked Patrick Buchan Hepburn to Holyrood on the Friday night; that is the reception.
The King of Siam has bidden me to dinner on Monday-week, apparently under the impression that I am an old Etonian !
Much love. Take care of yourself.
