Your book has arrived and is given a place of honour on the shelf where There are a good many other from Heath's Flagellum onwards. Thank you very much for the present and for your letter.

Belloc seems to have drawn on Heath a good deal.

The more I look at his book - the more I am amazed at his effrontery. I have written to G.P. Gooch suggesting that his perversions should be dealt with one by one.

I have been reading the Reviews with much interest. The Times Literary Supplement gave Belloc's 'history' more credit than it deserved.
