Dear Mr. Buchan,

Some eight years have elapsed since I had the pleasure of spending a delightful week end under the hospitable roof of your charming house at Oxford.

I have been in London twice since, but each time missing an opportunity of seeing you again, either on account of your absence from the town, or the shortness of my stay, although I have naturally been following with keen interests the news of your activities and achievements in politics, as well as in literary field for all these years.

Now that, I have been advieed by my bookseller in London, Truelove & Hanson, 4a Clifford Street, of the expected publication of your another book, "Oliver Cromwell", may I not instruct them to forward my copy to you and get your autograph on its front page before mailing it to Japan?

To add another masterpiece of yours with the author's autograph to my humble collection of your works in my library will remain forever as the best token of my pleasant memory of the hospitality extended to me by yourself and your family on the occasion of my visit to Oxford in 1926.

I can not end this letter without telling you again that how helpful and useful your memorandum on the legal protections of the copy rights of news in United Kingdom and in other countries have been, not only for myself but for many of my journalistic friends. If the forthcoming "Press Law" of Japan contains, as we believe

it certainly will, the provisions for that purposes, it is to you, indeed, that we owe so much for the benefit we can enjoy under the new Law.

About myself, there is not much to tell, except that I am just as strong as ever, and am still in the management of Rengo which, thanks to the supports of the Japanese newspapers and its allied foreign news agencies, has made since, and is making, a steady but rapid growth not only in its size, but also in its influences and credits. And as to Rengo's relations with Reuters, I am glad to say, it is just as satisfactory and efficient as any cooperation between the two international organizations of any kind could be, as you might perhaps have heard about it from Sir Roderick himself.
