Dear Buchan,

I almost wrote you to apologize for the badness of my review - my last in the S.T. for the time as my oculist has put his foot down about

too much eye strain. I almost, but not quite, wish that, when the opportunities were, I had gone into the H. of C. where the lungs (mine are still unimpaired) can take some strain off the eyes.

I have returned here to write books.
