great kindness - it will always be a most valuable possession - and I am looking forward to Reading it more than I can say. You have already given me untold pleasure in Reading so many of your Books, and never did I dream of owning one signed by your self, a very Real Honour.

You must think me so ungrateful in not writing sooner, but I only got it Late last night on my return from Scotland. My Boy and I have been motoring South rather leisurely and no letters have reached us for several Days, so please believe it was not ingratitude.
