St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
4th July, 1934.
My own little darling

I dined with Roderick Jones and my co-Directors and talked business until late.
The news of William's non-appearance in Glasgow has been received with deep regret by the Herald.

founding of Canada in September. It would mean, I take it, a week each way on the sea, with a week of hectic speeches and ceremonies in between. I await the horrid details before saying anything more.
Much love. from John
