St. Stephen 's House, London, S. W. 1.

5th July, 1934.

My own darling

I got your postcard this morning. You are getting marvellous weather for travelling, and I do hope you will arrive safely. Remind Webb to meet me at 10.15 tomorrow.

It is still quite pleasant here, though it promises to be rather warmer today. I have a comparatively quiet day to get on with my work. I aid nothing much yesterday, and the House of Commons was very dull. I lunched with Victor Cazalet - a most curious party, I sat between Princess Bismarck and Lady Willingdon. I had talks with both the Willingdons, and was witness of a most amusing combat in rudeness between Mrs. Ronnie Greville and Mrs. Laura Corrigan.

I wonder if old John is getting all his arrangements made. Has he discovered when his train leaves on the 19th, and if that connects without fail with his boat at Genoa?

Much love. from John
