Having borrowed from our public library your "Life of Cromwell" I am venturing to tell you with what delight I have read it.

For some years I have had in my private Library the enclosed copy of "Monarchy Asserted" which I understand is a verbatim report of the appeal to Cromwell to accept the Crown and his reply, and printed in the same year (or the next) of its happening.

If you have not a copy of this book, will you do me the favour of accepting it from me?

All things considered, it is likely to be much more useful in your library than in mine, and if you care to add it to yours, your acceptance of it will give me great pleasure.
