St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
27th February, 1935.
My own darling
This is an awful day of snow and hail. The P.M., who has a fearful cold, has to speak at Doncaster tonight at a mass meeting. I have been urging him on the telephone to chuck it.
My chief news is that the Duke of Kent has agreed to be High Commissioner. His allowance is increased by £2,000. There was a good deal of difficulty with their Majesties over it, but thank goodness it is settled.
Will you remind Alice that I expect to meet her at Jules in Jermyn Street, tomorrow night at seven o'clock.
I hope you got home safely. I see Eton is to have another week's holiday at Easter for the Silver Jubilee.
Much love.

I am full of internal discomfort this week, which puzzles [ST: Doctor] Plesch. My nurse is coming daily, and I go to P. again tomorrow.
