St. Stephen's House,
London, S.W.1.

14th March, 1935.

My own darling,

It is mild and muggy, but much liker spring. I do hope
you had a good day in London yesterday and got safely home.

Mother seems to be slightly improving, according to
Nan's letters.

Remind Webb that I arrive tomorrow morning by the 10.10.
Will you find out from William when the film begins, and when he
wants us to dine?

The dinner last night was great fun, and I made rather
a good speech - an enormous gathering. I sat between the German
Ambassador and Lord Milford Haven. The latter is a very nice fellow.
The speaking, except for Lord Reading, was pretty good.
Reading is getting an old man now, and his voice is very cracked.

Much love.
John
