Personal

17th June, 1936.

The Rt Honble W. Mackenzie King, M.P., Laurier House, Ottawa.

We have arrived at Quebec after several delightful days at Murray Bay. I saw your friend Mrs. Robb and had long talks with her, about you and other things. I never met a more attractive American colony than the one resident there.

I hear that there is a possiblity I may have to come up to close Parliament on Saturday. Sixty or seventy Presbyterian ministers are by way of arriving to tea that day; but they will have to be left to my mother to entertain. I rather hope, however, that the closing won't be until the beginning of next week because I should be sorry to miss them - but whatever your commands are they will be obeyed.

May I mention a small point? I am greatly interested in the National Gallery - as you are - and two of the Trustees have lately died. The suggestion is that Dr. Murray, the Principal of the University of Saskatchewan, should succeed Mr. Norman Mackenzie of Regina, and that Judge Surveyer of Quebec should succeed Mons. Marchand of Montreal. So far as I can gather these are admirable suggestions, and I hope you will think so too.

I do hope you are not too tired. I look forward greatly
