Accept my very heartiest congratulations on your new & very interesting appointment. It is grievous to think that you will be at such a distance for so long, but to think of you in that new world, with so many new interests & loaded with such great

Our Alma Mater will suffer for want of her M.P. & I do not imagine that you will find any time for writing - for Canada is a huge realm to govern. And how ever will grace the situation & I hope enjoy it thoroughly. It is just splendid for you both. Will Alice go
