I cannot refrain from adding my snow-flake to the avalanche of congratulations that must needs be falling on you. A brilliant appointment and a great opportunity! I have wished they would send you to Washington, but this is even better.

Please don't forget my dear Maritime Provinces, where I have had some interesting adventures, have still some "loyalist" friends, and one or two family graves.
