[inter]esting & important job than Washington. We have been now for many years engaged in destroying - inevitably - the old conception of an Empire more or less dependent on the mother country. The problem is what if anything durable can be put in its place - Federation evidently won't do. Blank unredeemed separation would mean a great loss - to us & to the world. Joint action by the Empire in Foreign Affairs at least is very important. Perhaps something like the Little Entente within the League might work. Anyhow you are just the man to study
