Thomas Henderson, B.Sc., General Secretary.

46 AND 47 MORAY PLACE, EDINBURGH 8th April 1935.

Colonel John Buchan, M.P., Elsfield Manor, Oxford.

Dear Colonel Buchan,

At a recent meeting of my Parliamentary Committee I was instructed to convey to you the very warm thanks of the Educational Institute of Scotland for the invariable kindliness with which you have met our representatives and for your invaluable services to the cause of Scottish education.

We, as you know, have had much experience of Members of Parliament and we all of us feel that in you we have had an ideal University representative.

I was instructed also to express to you the heartiest congratulations of the teachers of Scotland on your appointment as Governor-General of Canada. We shall all of us watch your career with the greatest interest and hopefulness.

Yours very sincerely,

Thomas Henderson General Secretary.
