John Buchan Esq. C.H., M.P., St. Stephen's Hosue. Westminster S.W.1.

Dear Sir,

I doubt that you will need this letter: I doubt more that the compulsion that is upon me to send you my humble and heart felt thanks for The King's Grace can interest you, for thanks and congratulations must have been showered upon you like blossom upon a fruit tree. I have read The King's Grace, almost at a sitting; and I have no words - even if you should want them, to tell how much of truth and leavity it has brought me. It has made me want more than ever to serve my King and Country in the spirit of your own ideal. Will you let me add my essential good wishes to you as the King's representative in Canada? The King deserves, and could deserve, no better a friend and servant. With the same homage that your words evoke, and in grateful admiration, I beg to subscribe myself,

W.F Wentworth- Sheilds.
