St. Stephen's House, London, S.W.1.
30th July, 1935.
My own little darling
I had a rotten afternoon yesterday with my mouth. The dentist gave me a good deal of relief at six o'clock, and I had a very plesant dinner. It was a very moving occasion; about twenty people were there, including the President of the Royal Society and the President of the Royal Academy, and the head of Christie's - a curious group. Both Ramsay and I had to speak.
I hope you will not find London too tiring today, and get safely home.
I have a big day of interviews, my last Reuter meeting, and a long talk with Stanley Baldwin. Then I dine with Evelyn Byng.
Remind Webb to be at St. Stephen's Club at half past two tomorrow (Wednesday).
Do rest as much as you can.
Much love.
