LAURIER HOUSE, OTTAWA.

December 11th 1935.

My dear Governor General:

I feel I have never adequately expressed to Your Excellency my appreciation of your kindness in presenting me with the personally inscribed author's copy of "Men and Deeds", which I received at the time of leaving for Georgia, and for the good wishes which accompanied it. I know

I shall never be able to do so. I am sending with this note a copy of the address which I had the honour of presenting to Your Excellency on the evening of your arrival at Quebec. I hope that it, too, may have associations and hold memories which will be long cherished.

Yours very sincerely,

W.L. Mackenzie King.

His Excellency The Rt Hon'ble The Lord Tweedsmuir, G.C.M.G., CH. Governor General of Canada.
