LAURIER HOUSE, OTTAWA.

December 31, 1935

His Excellency The Right Honourable The Lord Tweedsmuir, G.C.M.G., C.H., Governor General of Canada, Rideau Hall, 0 t t a w a.

My dear Governor General:

I cannot begin to express my appreciation of Your Excellency's letter just received. I shall gladly avail myself of the earliest opportunity in the New Year to talk with you about the re-organization of my office.

At the moment, I shall not say more, by way of acknowledgment of Your Excellency's great kindness, than that your letter comes as a real support at a time of very great need.

With my warmest thanks, may I again express for Lady Tweedsmuir and yourself, and for all the members of your family, my best of wishes for the New Year.

Yours very sincerely, W. L. Mackenzie King
