Sir James MacBrien, C.B., C.N.G., D.S.O.,
R.C.M.P.,
Ottawa.
Eddie Shackleton has written to me about a proposal of a
geologist, Mr. Bentham, who accompanied the Ellesmereland expedition,
to make a new geological expedition to the Arctic and put in a considerable
time at Craig Harbour. It seems to me an excellent plan,
but its success depends upon the co-operation of the people here.
I believe Eddie Shackleton has already written to you. He has sent
me a long statement. Can you advise me which Government Department
I should take up the matter with? The primary interest of the expedition
would be geological.
Yours very sincerely,
